Re-Elect Jason Deneault Ward 3

Who is Jason Deneault?

A Husband, a Father of 2 girls, a Front-Line Healthcare employee for 25 years, a Lobbyist and Advocate for Long Term Care, and your Ward 3 Councillor for the past 4 years!

What have we accomplished together?

Over the past four years, through OUR advocacy together, we have been able to;

  • Put back the right-turn lane at Weber and Franklin

  • Install a crosswalk for pedestrians at Kingsway and Greenfield

  • Build a paved path through Wilson Park from Clark Ave to Kingsdale Community Centre

  • Added a right-turn lane at Wilson and Fairway Rd

  • Supported adding lights along the LRT tracks on Traynor

  • Create an off-leash dog park in Wilson Park

  • Halted an ill-advised development on King St. East

  • Championed a new program to meet local community needs- “Play in the Park”

Jason’s Beginning

Jason was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1977, and was raised by a single mother on Social Assistance living in Hamilton Housing (Subsidized Housing).  It was during these years that he realized the importance of community and social programs and the impact they played in his development, both socially and emotionally.

He graduated from Niagara College in 1999 with a Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services and received a Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation from Georgian College in 2000.

Jason was hired in December 2000 in the Recreation Department at a local Not for Profit LTC facility and has remained there since. Kitchener is his home. Ward 3 is his home!

In the late 2000’s he became a Union Rep in his workplace.  He fought diligently for Members, made sure their collective agreement was followed, and most importantly, made sure his members’ rights were protected.  In 2009, he became Union Chair.  This allowed him the opportunity to collective bargain on behalf of his members while also continuing to defend their rights against employers.

In 2019, Jason was proudly elected to his Local Union as Financial Secretary.  This opportunity allowed him the ability to enhance his skills when interacting with Members and strengthened his ability to manage and support their requests and challenges. It also expanded his understanding and mindset when monetary concerns were the focus.

“Through life, work, Council and Union experience, I want to fight.  I want to advocate for those whose voice is unheard.  I want to fight for our Community and our Ward.  Ward 3 deserves a Councillor that has a continued presence, takes nothing for granted, responds to your needs and concerns no matter big or small, and is willing to meet with anyone.

“I am not just an elected official, I am your Neighbour. Your concerns are my concerns.”

“Ward 3 is my Priority.”
